Terms of Service
Last updated: 28 May 2026
These terms govern your use of trafficmalta.com (“Malta Traffic”, “the Service”, “we”, “us”). By accessing or using the site, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What Malta Traffic is
Malta Traffic is a free, ad-supported website that aggregates and visualises traffic flow data, road incidents, congestion levels, and public street cameras for the Maltese islands. The Service is provided for general informational purposes only.
We are not a government agency, an emergency service, or an official source of road information. For authoritative data, contact Transport Malta or relevant local authorities.
2. No warranty & limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without any warranty of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or fitness for a particular purpose. Traffic flow data, incident reports, and congestion percentages are sourced from third parties (primarily TomTom) and may be delayed by 2-10 minutes, missing for certain road segments, or based on historical patterns rather than live observation.
You acknowledge that road conditions can change instantly and that our data is not a substitute for careful driving and observing actual conditions on the road. We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including but not limited to: missed appointments, fuel costs, time lost in traffic, vehicle damage, or personal injury.
Always follow road signs, local laws, and your own judgment.
3. Third-party content and links
The Service incorporates content and data from third-party providers, including but not limited to:
- TomTom — traffic flow tiles, incident details, and flow segment data via the TomTom Traffic API.
- SkylineWebcams — public traffic camera snapshot images via their CDN.
- OpenStreetMap & CARTO — base map tiles.
- Transport Malta— the ultimate source of incident data, surfaced via TomTom's feeds.
These third parties have their own terms of service and privacy policies which apply to data they process. We do not control them and do not warrant the accuracy of their content.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, mirror, or systematically download data from the Service for commercial redistribution without prior written permission.
- Use the Service in a way that disrupts its operation or imposes unreasonable load on our infrastructure or upstream providers.
- Attempt to bypass any access controls, rate limits, or API key restrictions.
- Use the Service to commit, facilitate, or encourage illegal activity.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code beyond what is publicly viewable through standard browser tools.
Casual personal use, sharing screenshots, embedding individual location-page links, and linking to us from your own site are all welcome.
5. Intellectual property
The site design, copy, code, and curated camera/location data are © 2026 Malta Traffic. The underlying traffic data, map tiles, and camera images remain the property of their respective owners (see section 3).
You may quote short excerpts of our written content (e.g. location-page descriptions, FAQ answers) with attribution and a link back to the source page.
6. Advertising
The Service displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. Ads help cover hosting and API costs. We do not endorse advertised products or services and have no control over which specific ads are shown to you — placement is determined by Google's algorithms based on page context and (if you consent) your browsing patterns. See our privacy policy for cookie details.
7. Changes to the Service or these terms
We may add, remove, or modify features of the Service at any time, including locations covered, cameras displayed, refresh frequencies, and analytics widgets. We may also update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malta. Any dispute arising out of your use of the Service shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Maltese courts.
